Elgin Lions Club elects new officers

The Elgin Lions Club recently inducted a new slate of officers for the 2022-23 club year.

The officers were elected at the club's June 7 meeting.

The officers are: Ed Bates, president; Gary Hearn, outgoing president and current membership director; Sue Bruneau and Wes Tredup, vice presidents; Bill Klawitter, treasurer; Lynn Dusel, secretary; Mary Merrell, recording secretary; Bob Fowler, Tail Twister; Sharry Blazier, one year director; and Mario Martinez, two year director.

The primary mission of the Elgin Lions Club is to provide eyeglasses to the community. This vision is achieved by working with Elgin Area School District U-46 and the Community Crisis Center.

They also work on local food drives, provide college scholarships, other local activities, as well as providing support for the Lions of Illinois Foundation and Lions International.

They are always looking for volunteers to help make this vision a reality. The club will help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you.

The Elgin Lions Club is open to individual membership for the yearly fee of only $75 which covers state and international dues.
