Lavelle Law attorney recognized by Chicago Bar Association

Lavelle Law attorney Colleen Breems has been named as one of three recipients of the David C. Hilliard Award for Outstanding Committee Service by the Chicago Bar Association (CBA). The award is in recognition of Breems's work with the Young Lawyers Section Family Law Committee.

Breems is a part of the Family and Divorce Law practice group at Lavelle Law. A graduate of the University of Illinois and the DePaul University College of Law, Breems has been recognized as an Illinois Rising Star in 2021 and 2022 by Super Lawyers magazine and as an Emerging Lawyer in 2021 by Leading Lawyers.

"Colleen has quickly established herself as a caring, committed, and skilled attorney since joining our firm several years ago," said Managing Partner Ted McGinn. "Her involvement with the Chicago Bar Association is indicative of her commitment to the legal community."

The Young Lawyers Section of the CBA is for attorneys who are in the first 10 years of their career. The David C. Hilliard Award recognizes her contributions to the on-going work of the committee.

"I'm honored and humbled to receive this recognition from my peers," Breems said. "It is important for each of us to give back to the profession we work in and I appreciate the opportunities that serving in the Young Lawyers Section of the CBA presents to me."
