Early morning shooting in Huntley injures two men
Huntley police are investigating a shooting early Monday at a residence that injured two men.
Authorities said the shooting happened just before 4:20 a.m., and the offender fled the home on the 11800 block of Cape Cod Lane before they arrived.
Huntley Police said Monday night the suspect may have been involved in a carjacking in Bartlett at around 4 p.m. Huntley and Bartlett police are working together to investigate the possible carjacking, and the suspect remains on the loose.
They are looking for a Hispanic, short-haired stocky man, about 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He drove off in a white four-door sedan that police found sometime later after the car had been abandoned, police said.
A preliminary investigation indicates the suspect drove up to the house and approached the front door before opening fire, striking the two men who were eventually taken to a hospital for treatment.
The conditions of the men are unknown.
Police officials said the shooter targeted the home and its occupants.
They are asking residents of the Wing Pointe subdivision to review their doorbell and security cameras from the early morning hours for any footage that might assist in this investigation.
