Palatine Sparrow's Nest Thrift Store and Donation Center to Open Aug. 1
The Palatine Sparrow's Nest Thrift Store and Donation Center officially opens on Monday, August 1, 2022. The store is located at: 275 E. Northwest Highway in Palatine, IL. A ribbon cutting will be held by the Palatine Chamber on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at noon.
Your volunteer help is needed. It takes 30 to 50 volunteers, high school age and over, to operate the Palatine store. Volunteers help with variety of tasks such as accepting, sorting, cleaning, pricing, and displaying donated merchandise. Volunteers are also needed in specialized areas such as cashiering, floral arrangement, window dressing, and store design. Home of the Sparrow operates six Sparrow's Nest Thrift Stores located in; McHenry, Woodstock, Cary, Palatine, Mundelein, Third Lake and Community Threads in Arlington Heights.
Home of the Sparrow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides Transitional Shelter, Housing, Rental Assistance, Outreach and Case Management services to homeless women and children. Proceeds support Home of the Sparrow's mission "to provide Hope, Opportunity and Support to empower homeless women and children as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency."
