Celebrate the harvest with Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley farm-to-table fundraiser Aug. 27

On Saturday, Aug. 27, Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley will celebrate the harvest with a farm-to-table experience on the lawn of the 1843 Durant House in the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles.

The annual fundraiser for St. Charles-based nonprofit organization will be 4 to 7 p.m.

To procure the farm food, Preservation Partners partnered with the Illinois Farmers Market Association.

Rustic Road Farm in Elburn will be the feature chef preparing dinner on-site with appetizers by Nobel House Geneva, and farm fresh desserts from The Milk House Ice Cream in Pingree Grove.

Beer and hard seltzer from Solemn Oath Brewery in Naperville and wine from Danenberger Family Vineyards in New Berlin will also be available.

While the food will be the highlight, guests will also enjoy the bluegrass/folk music of County Line String Band, a skittles tournament (a 19th-century game, not the candy), and tours of the Durant House Museum.

To raise money for Preservation Partner's mission to educate about local history, guests can enter to win one of a plethora of local raffle items, participate in a wine pull, and bid in the silent auction for one-of-a-kind Fox Valley area experiences.

Tickets are available for $100 at PPFV.org/farm-to-table. Guests must be age 21 or older. The food will not be guaranteed to be gluten- or allergen-free.
