Northbrook Park District Seeks Community Input for Williamsburg Square Park
Northbrook Park District is currently planning improvements to Williamsburg Square Park located at 200 Lee Road, Northbrook. District staff are asking the community for input on amenities at the park.
On Aug. 24, the Board of Park Commissioners approved a resolution to support application for an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). Following the grant submission in September 2022, IDNR will review applications to fund projects in 2023. If approved, the District could be awarded up to $600,000 for improvements to this park and would have 24 months to complete the project.
A Community Open House for Williamsburg Square Park, facilitated by Hitchcock Design Group, will be held on Wednesday, from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the Prairie Room at Techny Prairie Activity Center located in Techny Prairie Park and Fields at 180 Anets Drive, Northbrook.
Community members are invited to attend the Open House to discuss the project with staff members and project consultants, view current design plans, review survey results from the spring and provide feedback for this park.
If you are unable to attend the Open House or would like to discuss this project, contact Chris Leiner at (847) 291-2960 or cleiner@nbparks.org.
