Get tips on workouts, stretches at Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners meeting Sept. 20
The Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners' monthly meeting will feature a program on "Oh My Aching Back!"
Raking, weeding, planting, transplanting, harvesting; Oh, my aching back and shoulders. As gardeners know all too well what that is all about.
The meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.
It will begin with socializing at 6:45 p.m. with the business meeting and presentation at 7 p.m.
Physical therapist Eric Sanderson will introduce various stretches and proper body mechanics to help the young, middle aged, and those of north of middle aged, navigate safely and comfortably through the fall harvesting cleanup season.
Sanderson, a graduate of Midwestern University, has worked in the physical therapy department at Fox Valley Orthopedics for the past 10 years. He has treated everything from minor sprains to total joint replacements. Eric, his wife and three young children live in Batavia and are all avid backyard gardeners. He knows the rewards and physical challenges of gardening.
Be ready to work it out and stretch, stretch, stretch!
