The Batavia Chamber celebrated the grand opening of Slumberland Furniture, 165 N. Randall Road in Batavia on Sept. 28. Located at 165 N. Randall Road in Batavia, the store's opening marks the first Slumberland Furniture store in the Chicago area. Brothers Mo and Mike Jaber are the owners of this franchised Slumberland Furniture store. After an introduction by Batavia Chamber President and CEO Margaret Perreault, Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke kicked off the festivities by welcoming Slumberland Furniture to Batavia. Fellow speakers included Kenny Larson, president of Slumberland Furniture; Mo Jaber, Batavia franchise owner; and Gayle Voigt-Frolek, vice president of franchise at Slumberland.
The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting for StoryPoint Naperville, 504 North River Road in Naperville on Sept. 27. The city of Naperville was well represented by both Councilman Ian Holzhauer and Councilwoman Patty Gustin.
BACC President/CEO Suzanne Corr (far left) and BACC Women's Biz Net council member Gaye Mack (far right), recently presented $700 in grocery gift card donations to Sophia Colberg, Cuba Township Food Pantry Coordinator, and Heidi Shannon, Cuba Township Clerk. The gift cards were collected as part of the BACC Women's Biz Net's annual food pantry drive.
