Dialexa, an IBM company, Transforms Home for a Family in Need
On October 7, Dialexa, an IBM company, revealed a furnished home to a single mother and her three children who are emerging out of homelessness.
Dialexa, in partnership with nonprofit Humble Design and design firm Pallas Textiles, spent the morning transporting and setting up furniture, art, table settings and so much more to the Humboldt Park area home, in anticipation of welcoming the family for a reveal that afternoon.
This is an exceptional and generous family who would give the shirt off their backs to help their neighbors. In return, Dialexa gave them a fresh start in a beautifully furnished home that they can call their own.
The wait time in Chicago for affordable housing is up to 10 years, a fact that Dialexa does not take lightly, and which fuels its goal to accelerate bold outcomes for Chicagoland communities in need.
