Buffalo Grove company buys Clarus Therapeutics drug

NORTHBROOK - Clarus Therapeutics Inc. selected Tolmar Inc. in Buffalo Grove as the winning bidder in a competitive auction for the sale of Jatenzo, a testosterone steroid capsule drug.

The bidding and auction procedures were approved by the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and the sale of Jatenzo and certain related assets remain subject to final bankruptcy court approval on Oct. 26, the company said.

Northbrook-based Clarus is a pharmaceutical company with expertise in developing androgen-based medicines. It's first commercial product was Jatenzo. Clarus filed the voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition last month.

Tolmar is a specialty pharmaceutical company whose portfolio includes products for urology, oncology and dermatology.
