Midnight on Morton Halloween display in Batavia collecting donations for pet shelter

As part of their interactive home/yard haunt at 714 Morton St., Batavia residents Zachary and Andrea Sage are collecting donations for Animal House Shelter in Huntley.

The "Coffin For A Cause" display is accepting donations of money or animal supplies throughout the month of October.

Suggested pet food items include: Royal Canin Puppy Appetite Stimulation canned dog food; canned cat food, pate preferred; Purina Kitten Chow; any variety of canned dog or puppy food; Eukanuba puppy food; cans of tuna fish or chicken chunks; meat-flavored baby food without onion or garlic powder; KMR milk for kittens; Esbilac milk for puppies; or Prescription A/D or Royal Canin Recovery R/S, available at vet clinics.

Suggested cleaning supplies include: Dawn dish soap, bleach, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags (55-gallon preferred), Clorox Wipes, and Clorox Cleanup.

Other requested donations include: copy paper or pens, pencils, Sharpies, highlighters and paper clips; bedding items such as towels, comforters, blankets, bath mats, sheets; cat or dog toys, such as stuffed animals, tennis balls, squeaky toys, ropes, cat toys; bones (rawhide, Nylabones, Dentabones, etc.); and collars, harnesses or leashes, all sizes.

Zachary and Andrea Sage are part of the Chicago Haunt Builders, a group of Halloween enthusiasts who build and create elaborate yard haunts.

The spooky Halloween display is kid friendly with skeletons, lights, music, fog, animatronics. Look out for the tombstones in the Rotten Patch Cemetery, which are funny or have pop culture references. All of their props are hand or custom built.

Dress warm and be ready for Halloween fun!

Bring your donations for Animal House Shelter and drop off at the "Coffin For A Cause."

Do not block any driveways; there is plenty of parking on the street. Watch out for little ones too.
