CLC to stage abridged works of the Bard

For anyone who's ever wanted to watch all of Shakespeare's plays, the College of Lake County Theatre Department will present "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised]."

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12, and Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 17-19; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

This funny comedy explores what happens when three overachieving actors attempt the feat of presenting all of Shakespeare's plays in a single, two-hour production.

"I think many of us need a good laugh these days, and this outrageous comedy will keep audiences laughing from start to finish," theater department chair Craig Rich said.

"We are so fortunate to have a talented guest director, Dylan S. Roberts, from Chicago to work with our students on this production. One of our CLC alums, Ben Compton, is returning to choreograph the combat sequences."

Tickets are $10 for the general public and $8 for CLC students, teenagers and seniors. Tickets are buy one ticket, get one free opening night, Friday, Nov. 11, and Thursday, Nov. 17.

The cast includes Drew Porter of Round Lake Beach, Hannah Allie of Lindenhurst and Mark Warden of Johnsburg.
