Letter: Elect a smart justice of impeccable character
One of the things that my husband was very proud of during his career, first as DuPage County state's attorney (10 years) and then as Illinois attorney general (8 years) was the quality of the men and women he brought to these offices.
When Jim hired Mike Burke as an assistant state's attorney, he found a prosecutor he came to admire as one of his best choices, Jim touted Burke's complete honesty, integrity, dedication to the law and tireless work ethic.
Years later when Mike became a justice, he felt confident that the law was being administered with a depth of knowledge and consistent equity.
These are trying times for the country, our state and our neighborhoods. Illinois needs a person on its Supreme Court who truly represents us, someone who is smart, experienced and of impeccable character.
Vote for Justice Michael Burke, he is that person.
