Hersey QB Gumino Gives Back!
Colton Gumino is the quarterback for the Hersey High School Varsity teams. Colton not only shows talent on the field , but his talent and generosity off the field really stands out.
Colton help Hersey Football go 9-0 this season for the first time since 1975, he lead the team in scoring this season with 20 touchdowns.
Every year since Colton was 10, he picks a charity to give back to. He takes $200 per touchdown that he scores and presents it each year to the charity of his wishes. Over the years he has donated to Luires Children Hospital, JJ Watts Charity and the District 205 Foundation.
This year, Colton moved to Arlington Heights and wanted to give local. Chris Laporte started a new Pop Warner program the Arlington Dawgs Youth Football that will feed into Hersey High School.
"Youth football has been a big part of my life, Colton Gumino said. "Playing for the Elmhurst Eagles has change my life and really has made me the player and person I am today. I really loved the idea of a new youth football program starting and knew they could use the money to help with safe and proper equipment and family's that might not be able to afford the costs."
Colton presented the check this past Saturday at the program's first evaluations at TNT Ignite! What a great way to start the holiday season in Arlington Heights!
