Jeeps on the Run joins Roselle food drive
The Jeeps on the Run Jeep Club will attend the Roselle Lions Club's "Cookies and Cocoa with Santa Food Drive" on Saturday, Dec. 17. The group will arrive at 1:45 p.m at the Roselle American Legion Hall, 344 E. Maple in Roselle.
This is the third year that the Jeep club has joined with the Lions in collecting food and other necessities for the local food pantries.
According to Lion Nick Buriegi, the Jeepers enjoy decorating their jeeps and collecting items for the food drive.
"We do a Toys for Tots run and the Lions Food Drive each year as our way of contributing to our community," he said.
Over the past two years, the Lions and Jeepers have collected more than 10,000 nonperishable food items at the holiday season.
Kids can visit Santa and have photos taken from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legion Hall.
Admission is canned goods or cash donations which will be used to purchase vegetables and meat items.
A van will be parked in the Legion parking lot for persons wishing to donate food or cash without entering the building.
Donations can also be sent to RoselleLions.com. All money donated will be forwarded to the food pantries.
