Huntley church offers adult education series on faith and mental health
Should guilt be a part of healthy Christian living? Are shame and guilt the same thing?
These questions and other related issues will be answered during seven "Faith and Mental Health" adult education consecutive weekly sessions with Pastor Roy Olson at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main St., Huntley. It will be offered at 10:20 a.m. Sundays from Jan. 15 through Feb. 26.
"We are commanded to forgive others but what about forgiving ourselves," said Pastor Olson. "Are we told how to go about it in either case? Come and join the discussion."
The topics scheduled for the upcoming sessions include: Jan. 15 - Shame in New Testament Culture; Jan. 22 - Is It Shame or Guilt?; Jan. 29 - How Do We Forgive Ourselves?; Feb. 5 - Jesus' Words On Forgiveness; Feb. 12 - The Power of Forgiveness; Feb. 19 - Forgiving Those Who Wronged Us, Part 1; and Feb. 26 - Forgiving Those Who Wronged Us, Part 2.
