The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce gathered with the village of South Barrington for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Dec. 6 to celebrate the opening of SB Merchant MD, located at 3 Executive Ct., Suite 3 in South Barrington. Ribbon-cutting attendees included: Dr. Shehrebanu Merchant, Jackie Ruiz, Fatima Siniwala and Maryam Shamshuddin (SB Merchant MD); Paula McCombie and Robert Palmer (Village of South Barrington); Doug McAllister (Douglas Auto); Jon Stickney (Barrington Bank & Trust Co., N.A.); Steve Wilson (CBIZ, Inc.); Monique Libreros (Illinois Pain and Spine Institute); and Suzanne Corr (Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce).

Echo Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of outdoor power equipment located in Lake Zurich, celebrated on Nov. 16 the company's 50th anniversary.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of Batavia Chamber member European Chef To The Rescue with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 9. The event was held in the lobby of the Batavia Chamber's office, 106 W. Wilson St. in Batavia. Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration, along with the owners, Chef Mark Low and his wife Donna Low, along with two of their three children, Gina and Anthony. Among the well-wishers were Batavia Chamber President and CEO Margaret Perreault; Patti Anselme, special events coordinator; and Shirley Mott, chamber communications and membership coordinator. Also present were Batavia Chamber board president Jamie Saam, and Anthony Isom, Batavia economic development manager, along with chamber ambassadors, fellow business owners and friends.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Batavia Chamber member Chicken Salad Chick with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Jan. 10. Their Batavia location, 220 N. Randall Road, becomes the first Chicken Salad Chick restaurant to open in the Chicago area. Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration with the owners, Garrett and Kimberly Seaman and their three children, Everett, Graham, and Mattis. The restaurant's general manager is Maryclare McQuade; with Susan Zidek and Julian DeLeon employed as assistant managers. Many representatives from the corporate offices of Chicken Salad Chick were in attendance to assist with the grand opening, including Jim Thompson, chief operating officer.

Mark Rosenstein of Foundation Fitness Club in Lombard, collecting donations to help The Outreach House, a nonprofit serving families in need, with Nicole DeJoris, president of Pinnacle Packaging in Lombard.

On Jan. 12, the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of Xpressive Mocha at 125 S. Bloomingdale Road. Owner Vivian Jamison started by making a product that would help her son with eczema. She uses all plant based products with no chemicals, drugs or side effects.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce, along with Batavia Chamber of Commerce, held a ribbon cutting for Daniele Saunders Photography, 314 W. State St., Geneva on Jan. 12 celebrating their new space. The ribbon was cut by owner Daniele Saunders surrounded by her family, friends, Geneva and Batavia Chamber of Commerce staff and members. Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns and Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke were also in attendance for the event.
