Geneva Unit District 304 to host superintendent finalist forum

On Jan. 10, the Geneva Unit District 304 board met with associates from the search firm of Ray & Associates to discuss the 38 applications received for the superintendent position. Once first-round interviews are completed and board discussion has taken place, finalists will be selected.

Members of Ray & Associates will be moderating stakeholder forums with the finalists. The format will be announced following first round interviews.

At this time, forums are expected to be scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24, followed by board interviews on Wednesday, Jan. 25. The board is hopeful the selected candidate will be announced shortly thereafter.

The district invites residents to submit a question for the finalists. Submit your question via www.surveymonkey.com/r/YC6ZYZ7 no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20.

If preferred, you can provide a written question at the forum but, in the interest of time, district staff suggest you complete the online survey. Due to time constraints during the forums, similar questions may be combined, and all questions may not be asked. Each candidate will be asked the same questions to ensure there is consistency between the finalists.

Following the forums, participants will be given the opportunity to provide feedback in a method yet to be determined. The board looks forward to receiving feedback on how you felt the candidates answered your questions and your overall feelings on the finalists.

If you plan on providing feedback to the board, they are asking that attendees stay to observe all of the finalist candidates, so there is a fair and equitable feedback of all candidates who participated.
