Elgin man faces child pornography charges
An Elgin man has been charged with possessing and reproducing child pornography.
Steven J. Young, 64, of the 0-100 block of Aldine Street, is being held on $100,000 bail in the Kane County jail.
He was arrested Tuesday.
He faces 10 counts of reproducing child pornography that depicts a child younger than 13, and 10 counts of possession of child pornography videos, according to a news release from the Kane County state's attorney's office.
The case was investigated by that office and the Kane County Sheriff's Office, with the aid of the Illinois attorney general and the Internet Crimes Against Children's task force.
Young's next court appearance is Feb. 3. He would need to post $10,000 bond to be freed pretrial.
