Police share video images from armed robbery at Glenview Tropical Smoothie
Glenview police released images Wednesday from surveillance video of vehicles believed to have been involved in an armed robbery Monday at Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
A dark-colored Honda CRV and a light-colored Ford Fusion, which police believe may be recent models, were the cars identified.
At 8:55 p.m. Monday, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the cafe at 2759 Pfingsten Road. Employees there told police a man wearing all black and a full black face mask came into the store, walked behind the counter and demanded money.
He lifted his shirt to display a handgun, police said, and after employees gave him money out of the cash register he left the store. No one was hurt, police said.
On Tuesday, police said a witness had seen a silver or gray van in the parking lot near the store. The driver was a Black man, about 40 years old, wearing all black clothing, a medical mask and a black hat.
His passenger was a Black man about 20 years old, police said, wearing a black full face mask. A few minutes later, the witness saw the passenger inside Tropical Smoothie, police said.
