Bring the kids to see big trucks in Palatine

Would your kids like to climb behind the wheel of a big truck? Imagine themselves driving a big rig?

Climb, touch and explore at Palatine Park District's Big Trucks from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Family Aquatic Center, 340 E. Palatine Road, Palatine.

The first 500 children who arrive will receive a goody bag. Bring your camera and capture memories as kids and adults alike tour trucks of all sizes.

According to Karen Rude, Palatine Park District Preschool/Tots coordinator, Big Trucks has been causing a rumble in Palatine for 20 years.

"This is our 21st year," she said. "Kids really enjoy this event because kids love trucks, and this is a chance to see them close up."

Big Trucks is offered through the generosity of ABC Plumbing, Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA), Sue Gould-Berkshire Hathaway, Palatine Library, Bach to Rock, Palatine Bank and Trust, Pantomath, and Chick-fil-A Kildeer.

Concessions are available at the Family Aquatic Center and parking is available at the Community Center parking lot, 250 E. Wood St.
