St. Charles BSA Troop 13 to celebrate Wayne Eagle Scout at May 6 ceremony

William Dimitroff of Wayne will receive the rank of Eagle Scout from St. Charles BSA Troop 13 during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor. It will be part of a dual ceremony with fellow Troop 13 Eagle Scout Michael Romanek. It will be held Saturday, May 6, at the Moonlight Theatre, 7 S. Second Ave. in St. Charles.

His Eagle Scout project involved the planning, fundraising, project management, and construction of a four-season horse shelter for the Friends for Therapeutic Equine Activities in Wayne where his brother has benefited from their services for many years.

His Eagle project was later selected as a recipient of the Three Fires Council's 2023 Adams Eagle Service Project. At a June council dinner, he will be presented with a certificate, patch, an Eagle knot device recognizing his Eagle service project.

His Eagle Service project also was submitted to the National Eagle Scout Association for National Service Territory consideration. It is an honor to be selected and recognized for consideration for the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award which recognizes valuable service of an exceptional nature by an Eagle Scout candidate to a religious institution, school, community or other entity through completion of an Eagle Scout project. A winner has not yet been announced.
