Letter: Wrong for neighborhood

I live in a large condominium complex off Rand Road in Arlington Heights. Recently, the former Family Video store on the corner of Rand and Camp McDonald Roads was sold, and a new sign has appeared on that property, "Romantix." An internet check confirmed this will be an adult sex shop featuring devices, videos and viewing rooms. This is not the sort of business our family-oriented community wants to see in our or anyone's back yard.

To make it more concerning, there is an elementary school a block away and a day-care center just steps away from the property. We worry about such a business and the clientele it will attract.

I have contacted Arlington Heights Village Hall with my concerns. Perhaps others who feel the same will do so as well.
