American Legion Auxiliary Awards Scholarship to Local College Student
Niccole Rietveld, a nursing student at College of Lake County (CLC), was awarded a scholarship from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 281 in Waukegan. Niccole also received a scholarship from the Waukegan American Legion Post 281. These scholarships will be used for tuition for fall semester.
Niccole, a Grayslake resident, is in her final semester at CLC and will graduate in December 2023 with an associate degree.
She enjoys the educational experience at the college and appreciates the diversity of her classmates - male, female, wide range of ages, past experiences, etc. She currently has an internship at Advocate Condell Medical Center where she is gaining valuable experience in the nursing field. Niccole hopes to eventually become an emergency room nurse.
Upon receiving the scholarships, Niccole was ecstatic and stated she is "very, very grateful for the assistance from the American Legion Family. It is really making a huge difference."
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 281 and American Legion Post 281 of Waukegan congratulate Niccole Rietveld on her achievements and wishes her the best in her future studies.
