Cavalier dismissal of parental involvement
You expressed satisfaction in the FDA's approval of an over-the-counter contraceptive, writing that "(t)eenage girls can get the reliable birth control they need to avoid an unintended pregnancy without ... parents telling them no."
Apart from obvious moral considerations, the editorial prompted my wondering whether any of the eight editorial board members had even a slight reservation about what their colleague had written, or whether any had expressed an objection to any aspect of the opinion which, after all, cavalierly dismissed parental involvement in profound physical, spiritual, and behavioral development of a child.
