Taste of Roselle will be serving up food, music and fun Aug. 4-6
The Roselle Lions Club is hosting the best block party of the summer with the 41st annual Taste of Roselle on Friday to Sunday, Aug. 4-6.
Enjoy the great food, live entertainment, carnival, bingo tent, games for kids, arts and craft booths, and more.
The Taste of Roselle will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday on Main Street, between Roselle Road and Park Street. Admission is free.
While strolling down Main Street, you will also be able to visit local shops and businesses.
On Friday, there will be an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. at the Showcase Plaza, on the west end of Main Street. The Roselle American Legion Post 1084 Color Guard will make their way down Main Street, stopping at the Showcase Plaza. At 6:05 p.m., there will be the national anthem with Marc Cash and Ike Sentman on trumpet, and Post 1084 will lead a gun salute at 6:10 p.m., followed by opening words by Roselle Mayor David Pileski.
The main stage will open on Friday with Devon DeLux performing eight decades of rock and pop hits at 6:15 p.m. It will be followed by the Grateful Dead tribute band Scarlet Mountain at 7:45 p.m. and Dixon Bandits performing Southern Rock covers at 9:30 p.m.
The Showcase Plaza will feature local jazz musician Jeff DeLarosa at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by Dave Carmona performing acoustic pop and rock at 8 p.m., and DJ Rixmix at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, the Roselle School of Music will perform a "Cavalcade of Stars" with local musicians at noon on the main stage. The School of Rock Schaumburg will then perform a variety of covers at 1:45 p.m. Our So-Called Band will perform 1990s covers at 3:15 p.m. The "rockin' bluegrass" band Old Stumpy will be returning for the third year in the row at 4:45 p.m. The VoodooDolls band will perform eclectic covers at 6:15 p.m. Pitchy and the 44s will perform Gypsy Rock Jazzabilly at 8 p.m. and the rock band Camouflage Moon will wrap up the evening's entertainment at 9:30 p.m.
On Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m., get in the mood to party with a session of Zumba with Anytime Fitness Roselle on the Showcase Plaza stage.
It will be followed by dance performances by Relevé Performing Arts at 2 p.m. and Lights Camera Dancin' at 3 p.m.
The Adjustments will play acoustic oldies at 4 p.m., and Jimmy Bartholomew, Roselle's Troubadour, will take the Showcase stage at 5 p.m. Dave Carmona will perform acoustic pop & rock at 6:30 p.m.
Tony French Music will showcase blues and roots music at 8 p.m. The Showcase Plaza stage will close with DJ Rixmix at 9.15 p.m.
The final day of Taste of Roselle will open on Sunday with the Christian Tabernacle Church Gospel Choir at noon on the main stage. Enjoy Live Pete performing "Old Time Rock 'N Roll" at 1:30 p.m.
The Dynamix will be playing your favorite songs of the 1950s to the '80s at 3:15 p.m.
Shukin and The Ramblers will perform Rusty Roots Rock Review at 4:45 p.m.
Won't be Denied with Heavy on the Dave will close out the three-day festival performing '90s alternative rock at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage.
On Sunday, HOTT Productions Performing Arts Studio will open the Showcase Plaza stage at 2 p.m.
Jack Wilson, an international fingerstyle guitarist, will perform at 3 p.m., followed by guitarist Ed Cid at 4:30 p.m.
Sammy Ray will perform acoustic blues at 6 p.m., followed by DJ Rixmix at 7 p.m.
The Roselle Chamber of Commerce will be hosting bingo for kids and adults in the tent in the library parking lot on Park Street, just south of Prospect. Adult bingo will be offered from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Kids' bingo will be played from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
