$1 million bail for man accused of DuPage carjacking

A man is being held on $1 million bail at the DuPage County jail, accused of carjacking a senior citizen.
Destin L. Jones, 20, of the 1900 block of South 23rd Avenue in Maywood, was arrested Sunday, according to DuPage County jail records. He appeared before DuPage County Judge Ann Celine O'Hallaren Walsh Monday.
The carjacking took place at 9:37 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2022, according to court records. The victim was over 60 years old and was driving a 2008 Lexus.
The location of the carjacking, and the sex of the victim, are not listed in court records.
The case was investigated by the DuPage County sheriff's office.
To be freed pretrial, Jones would need to post $100,000 bond and remain in his home, wearing a GPS monitor.
