Chicago Backflow Inc. is Alsip is celebrating 30 years in business! Backflow industry trailblazers Michael Eisenhauer and Donald Smith were committed to applying their combined plumbing and fire protection knowledge to break into a new market, backflow testing, repair, installation, and emergency services. CBI has sustained that mission over the last 30 years. Being family owned and operated is what drives our mission and continually serve the community as part of our backflow family.
The most challenging part at the very start, according to Barb, CBI's director of operations, was the constant worry about whether the company would grow and expand, considering it was only three of them. Despite the fear that comes with starting a new business, the team persevered. We have the original 3 to thank for the success that CBI is today. From standing tall while facing being entrepreneurs the first handful of years, a national recession, to a global pandemic, and countless other obstacles, the Chicago Backflow legacy remains centered around being industry leading leaders in backflow services and by creating the best customer experience in the service industry.

It originated with my mother doing the billing and scheduling out of a bedroom in our basement, and my father, the founder, Mike Eisenhauer, going out and testing backflow devices," President Doug Eisenhauer said. "To reach a milestone in business of 30 years almost brings me to tears. All the phenomenal people that work so hard day in and day out is amazing to see."

With our roots in Alsip, our team of 12 licensed cross-connection control device inspectors have expanded to serve the greater Chicago metropolitan area, Northwest Indiana and to the borders of Iowa and Wisconsin.
