Roselle's Public Safety Open House returns for the first time since 2019
For the first time in four years, the Public Safety Open House will once again return to the Roselle municipal campus on Prospect Street.
Roselle's fire, police, and public works departments will host the Public Safety Open House on Sunday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.
The Public Safety Open House is a free, family-friendly event complete with live demonstrations, kids activities, refreshments, and Touch-a-Truck with trucks from Roselle Public Works, emergency vehicles from Roselle police and fire departments, as well as vehicles from local public safety organizations like the DuPage County Bomb Squad.
This year's event will see the return of beloved activities from past open houses, such as the Kids Combat Challenge for aspiring firefighters and a live burn demonstration, as well as new activities.
For example, the Roselle Police Department will perform drone flight demonstrations and answer attendee questions about how drones are used in public safety.
"This event is a great opportunity to get to know your first responders and gain a deeper understanding of how each Roselle department works to keep everyone safe," said Roselle Police Department Community Resource Coordinator Maria Reyes. "We are so excited to welcome everyone into our facilities and showcase our services."
The Public Safety Open House also will include:
• Vehicle extrication demonstration;
• Tours of the Roselle Police Department lockup facility;
• Hide & seek with thermal imaging camera;
• Meet Roselle Police Department's social services team;
• Hot dogs, popcorn, and lemonade (while supplies last)
The Roselle municipal campus is located on Prospect Street between Main Street and Maple Avenue.
