Wheeling steps up for 55th annual Chicagoland Marching Band Festival

Wheeling High School is hosting the 55th Annual Chicagoland Marching Band Festival on Saturday, September 16, 2023. It is the longest consecutive running marching band festival in northeastern Illinois.

This year's festival kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Around 2,000 students from 14 high schools will perform their half-time shows for a panel of nationally recognized judges.

"The Chicagoland Marching Band Festival is a win-win for our community. It is a great opportunity to edify the great musical performances happening at the schools in our area, it offers an awesome educational experience for participating schools, and it provides an opportunity for our Wheeling Band community to show hospitality to others. This event is our biggest fundraiser to help support our yearly activities," said Wheeling High School band director Mike Malek.

Admission for the festival is $15. Concessions will be available throughout the performances.

Wheeling High School is at 900 S. Elmhurst Road, in Wheeling, on the corner of Elmhurst and Hintz Roads.
