Enjoy the 'witching season' while we can

Don't look now but the leaves are slowly turning, the grass has taken on a golden accent and the days are growing ever shorter. The witching season is drawing nearer, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

After all, we couldn't expect summer to last forever, not with Mother Nature's busy schedule and her not so hidden agenda.

And, anyway, what's so wrong with adding apple picking, football games, hayrides, bonfires, pumpkin lattes and cider doughnuts to our "must do" list? It's time to unpack our sweater collection for those early morning sojourns through the woods and for late night walks under that big, bright harvest moon.

We should all be enjoying it while we can, before that first unwelcome snowflake beckons yet another winter of our discontent.
