BSA's Takhone Lodge to host haunted hike like no other
While the leaves change color the movies get a bit scarier. But have you ever asked yourself, could the real terror be behind the scenes? From everything from the prop room to a dressing room to even the concession stand, the screams behind the scenes might just be the loudest!
The Takhone Lodge of Boy Scouts of America presents The Haunted Hike "Behind the Screams" on Oct. 20-21. This annual spooky event is open to the public and is a fundraiser to help with operations throughout the year.
It will take place at All Saints Cathedral Parish PNCC at 9201 W. Higgins Road, Chicago, IL 60631.
The fun begins on Friday at 7 p.m. and then ramps up to Extra Scary from 9:30-10:30 p.m.
On Saturday, a Fright Free "Flashlight Hike" runs from 3-5:30 p.m., then the regular Hike goes from 6-10:30 p.m., with the Extra Scary again starting at 9:30 p.m.
The Fright Free Hike is a big draw as it gives the younger and more easily scared folks an opportunity to come out and have a chance to see how things work with the staff stepping back, removing masks and explaining that it is all make-believe.
The price is $9 for Scouts and Scouters in Uniform, $10 for kids 12 and under, and $11 for adults or kids 13 and up. There will be concessions available to purchase. For advanced ticketing, go to oa7.org/events/hh/.
Walk-ins are always welcomed. Come and have a frightfully wonderful night with your whole family!
