Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital opens retail pharmacy

Downers Grove, Ill. – Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital opened a new retail pharmacy Monday morning (Oct. 16) on its campus, enabling discharged patients to have their prescriptions in hand before they leave the hospital. This new service offers an added convenience for patients by removing a trip to a local pharmacy on their way home. Over the counter medications will also be available.

The pharmacy is located on the ground floor of the Physician Office Center.

"We are excited to have a retail pharmacy right here at Good Sam to make accessing prescription medications easier and more convenient,” said Good Samaritan President Allison Wyler. “The Advocate Pharmacy provides a more integrated approach to care – making sure patients have everything they need to head home after they have been discharged.”

The pharmacy is also open for the community to fill or refill prescription medications and will offer same-day delivery for those who live in the neighborhood.

In addition to offering prescription medication, the pharmacy will also offer immunizations such as flu shots.
