Wolves shut out by Iowa Wild

The Wolves and the Iowa Wild locked horns in a classic goaltending duel Wednesday night in Iowa.

When the dust settled, Jesper Wallstedt and the Wild had bested Keith Kinkaid and the Wolves 1-0. Wallstedt made 31 saves to record his first shutout of the season while Kinkaid stopped 21, yielding only a first-period goal to Wild forward Nick Swaney.

The only score of the game came in the opening minutes of the first when Swaney cashed in on a power-play opportunity, solving Kinkaid from a tight angle.

The netminders took over the rest of the way in the first of eight meetings between the Central Division rivals.

The Wolves dropped to 1-2-1-1 on the season while the Wild improved to 2-3-0-0.
