Judge denies pretrial release for Bolingbrook man accused of illegal gun possession
A DuPage County judge denied the pretrial release for a Bolingbrook man accused of illegally possessing a loaded rifle and an unloaded handgun.
Gordon Martin, 23, of the 200 block of Dakota Court is charged with two counts of unlawful use of possession of weapons by a felon and one count of defacing identification makers of firearms. He also is charged with two counts of misdemeanor DUI.
Police found Martin just after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Shell gas station at 2212 Ogden Ave., overfilling his gas tank, officials said.
Both tires on the passenger's side of the car were deflated and the front bumper was missing, police said.
Police took Martin into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence but found the guns in his car upon searching the vehicle.
Martin's blood alcohol content was at 0.172, police said.
His next court appearance is set for Nov. 16.
