Veronica Porter presents "Indoor Gardening with Succulents." Over the last several years, succulents have become very popular. Porter will walk you through growing succulents indoors and discuss why they make the best house plants. Buffalo Grove Garden Club - Fall Decorating: 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Alcott Center, 530 Bernard Drive, Buffalo Grove. Mary Cantrell presents "Decorating for Fall." To add a breath of spring to your home this winter, discover proper techniques for forcing bulbs such as tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and minor bulbs. You will learn to choose varieties that are good performers and to combine them in one pot for a mini-garden effect. You will then pot up some bulbs to take home. Social time starts at 6:30 p.m. Kalscheur has a master's degree in natural resources and environmental science from University of Illinois, is retired from the Department of Agriculture and is a plant and pesticide specialist.
