Chicago Theatre Week 2024 commences: Discount tickets selling fast for suburban, city productions

After last year’s Chicago Theatre Week broke attendance records with ticket sales topping 20,000 for dozens of suburban and city productions, organizers and theater artists anticipate similar results this year as Chicago Theatre Week continues through Feb. 18.

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble’s “The Outgoing Tide,” Paramount Theatre’s “Billy Elliot: The Musical,” Northlight Theatre’s “Selling Kabul,” Marriott Theatre’s “In the Heights,” Metropolis Performing Arts Centre’s “The Music Man — In Concert” and Drury Lane Theatre’s “Fiddler on the Roof” are among the suburban productions offering discounted tickets during Chicago Theatre Week 2024.

More than 60 theater companies are participating with more than 80 productions and 440 individual performances.

Tickets for select performances, priced at $30, $15 or less, are available at chicagotheatreweek.com. As of Wednesday, theater lovers have purchased more than 12,000 tickets.

Additionally, for the second year in a row, Hot Tix hosts an extension dubbed Chicago Theatre Week Continued Feb. 19-25 at participating theaters. Tickets for those production are available at hottix.org.
