Fifty years of setting things straight: Arlington Chiropractic Clinic in Arlington Heights hits milestone
Arlington Chiropractic Clinic celebrated its 50th anniversary with a reception attended by longtime patients and Arlington Heights Mayor Tom Hayes.
The Nov. 17 event came two weeks before the 65th anniversary of the Our Lady of the Angels School fire in Chicago. The clinic’s founder, Dr. Gerald Andreoli, met his future wife Irene in the hospital after being severely injured in the 1958 fire.
Gerald’s career path was inspired by his own visits to a chiropractor throughout his teenage years for treatment of skin tightness, which resulted from severe burns.
Today, the clinic is run by his daughter, Christa. The staff includes her sister Katrina, who is a nutritionist and weight loss coach, and longtime chiropractor Peter Horn. Gerald Andreoli retired six years ago but still assists with some of the business operations.
The story of how the medical practice started and how it has evolved was featured in a business profile in the Oct. 29 Daily Herald Business section, during National Chiropractic Health Month.
“Our father raised us to be conscious of our health, be aware of our health, and he raised us to be a healthy family,” said Christa Andreoli, whose siblings Daniel and Philip also are doctors.
The clinic treats a range of ailments, from spinal problems to internal conditions.
At the 50th anniversary party in November, the Andreolis recognized many of their longtime patients with certificates of appreciation.
The clinic has been at 1702 W. Campbell St. since 1981, but started across the street in a one-room office in the Westgate Shopping Center.
