Sheriff asks public to help ID home invasion suspect

The DuPage County sheriff’s office is asking the public for help identifying a suspect in a December home invasion near Willowbrook.

It released photos and a video on Thursday.

The office said that on an unspecified day in December, a man entered a house in a subdivision. He entered through a first-floor window, which may have been unlocked.

Homeowners found the man in the dining room area. They unlocked the front door for the suspect to leave, but he could not open the door. He ran through the kitchen, punched one of the residents several times in the head, and exited through the garage.

The suspect returned early on Thursday to the same house while brandishing a knife but was unsuccessful. The residents were asleep at the time, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build.

He was wearing a mask, Uline-brand gloves and a Nike zip-up hoodie on Thursday.
