Harbor Freight opening Saturday in Elgin

Harbor Freight Tools will hold the official opening of their newest suburban location in Elgin Saturday.

The store occupies the space of the former OfficeMax at 202 S. Randall Road in the Otter Creek Shopping Center.

The California-based retailer stocks a large selection of tools and equipment in categories including automotive, air and power tools, storage, outdoor power equipment, generators, welding supplies, shop equipment, hand tools and more.

The Elgin location, which had a soft opening this week, is the 45th Harbor Freight in Illinois. There are over a dozen suburban locations, and another store is expected to open in Batavia in March. There are over 1,400 locations nationwide.

Harbor Freight is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
