State senator collecting valentines for seniors
State Sen. Adriane Johnson, a Democrat from Buffalo Grove, is collecting Valentine’s Day cards to be distributed next month at senior facilities across her 30th District.
Homemade or store-bought cards can be dropped off or mailed now through 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Johnson’s office, 149 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL 60085.
“A moment of kindness can really make someone’s day,” Johnson said in an announcement of the program.
The 30th District stretches from portions of Buffalo Grove and Wheeling into northern Lake County, including all or parts of Mundelein, Lincolnshire, Vernon Hills, Gurnee, Libertyville, Green Oaks and Waukegan.
