Suburban Sprawl: The best local sports highlights on social media
There’s so much going on in suburban sports, it’s time to consolidate and highlight some of the storylines found on social media. Welcome to the first edition of the Suburban Sprawl. Look for it weekly, maybe two or three times a week. We haven’t decided yet:
Impressive performance by Lake Park’s Darrione Rogers, who scored 19 points off the bench in Mississippi State’s 77-73 upset victory over No. 9 LSU on Monday.
Rogers transferred from DePaul this season and has played a supporting role for the Bulldogs. The 19 points was her second-highest scoring total of the season, and she went 4-for-8 from 3-point range.
MSU coach Sam Purcell went viral with his reaction to a Rogers’ clutch 3 late in the contest.

Mark Weisman was welcomed by Israel basketball club Hapoel Jerusalem as performance coach. The former Stevenson and Iowa running back spent the past year as the Cubs’ minor league strength and conditioning coordinator (via IG).
