How to recycle electronics in Wheaton
Wheaton’s electronic recycling event returns from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the city’s public works storage yard near the police department.
Residents can drop off holiday lights, microwaves, toasters, cellphones, scrap metals, fluorescent tube bulbs, portable music players and other items during the monthly event at 820 W. Liberty Drive.
Clothing should be placed in a clean plastic bag, and small electronics should be placed in a cardboard box. Volunteers will unload items from people’s cars.
Televisions can be recycled for a $25 to $35 fee paid in cash or in advance through the e-Works website at recycling.eworksesi.org.
For a full list of accepted items, visit the city’s website at wheaton.il.us/electronics.
