Mount Prospect promotes from within to fill assistant village manager post
Mount Prospect has named Alex Bertolucci as its new assistant village manager, replacing Nellie Beckner, who stepped down at the end of January.
Bertolucci has served as the assistant to Village Manager Michael Cassady since 2020.
“Alex’s educational background, local government management experience, leadership qualities, and commitment to the Village of Mount Prospect organization and community have prepared him for this expanded role,” Cassady said.
Bertolucci holds master’s in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in public policy with a concentration in urban studies from Northern Illinois University. He has served in various positions with the village for 13 years, beginning as an intern and continuing as management analyst and administrative analyst.
“I am grateful to be considered for this position and look forward to continuing to serve the community of Mount Prospect,” Bertolucci said. “I am thankful to the many individuals that have supported me and whom I’ve learned from during my tenure so far at the village.”
A lifelong Mount Prospect resident, Bertolucci is a race car enthusiast. His accomplishments with the village have included planning the Fridays on the Green Concerts and drafting the village’s Sustainability Plan.
Beckner, who had served as assistant village manager since 2018, said last month she was “moving on to other adventures not related to the public sector.”
