Naperville’s Calvary Christian School to host third annual 5K Glow Run

Calvary Christian School in Naperville invites the community to its third annual 5K Glow Run on Friday, April 19.

This school fundraiser is a chip-timed 5K evening run and 1-mile family-friendly walk on Calvary Church’s grounds, 9S200 Route 59.

Pre-race activities begin at 5:30 p.m. with neon colors, face painting and glow sticks. At 7 p.m., the “Race of Champions,” a half-hour race designed for individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities, will be held. The main race kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

Runners and their families are invited to stick around after the event for a post-race party with pizza, music, silent auctions, medal handouts and contests with prizes.

This year’s race will raise money for Calvary Christian School as they expand to include high school classes next fall.

The 2024-25 school year will hold classes for freshmen and sophomores, and then add a junior and a senior class over the next two years. Courses in line with Illinois graduation requirements, as well as AP courses, will be offered alongside creative and technical electives. Enrollment is now open. More can be found at the school’s website: ccsnaperville.org.
