Libertyville police seek help identifying man they say pointed a gun at gas station employee

Libertyville police are looking for a man who pointed a handgun at a gas station employee earlier this week.

Police said the suspect entered the station on the 2000 block of Shell Drive on the village’s far northwest side about 1:20 a.m. Monday.

An employee checked on the man after he spent a half hour in the bathroom and left the business, police said.

The man pointed a black handgun at the employee while leaving the parking lot in a silver SUV with tinted windows and unknown Wisconsin license plates, police said.

The vehicle was headed north on Route 45. Anyone able to identify the man or has other information is asked to call Libertyville police investigations at (847) 362-8310.
