Schaumburg woman charged with damaging Island Lake police lobby

Woman identified from video of early morning incident, police say

An arrest warrant for criminal damage to government-supported property was issued Friday for a Schaumburg woman officials believe damaged the Island Lake police station lobby early on April 30.

Island Lake police identified the woman as Mary Larson, 35, of the 300 block of Fermi Court. The charge is a felony.

Police said a woman entered the lobby about 3:41 a.m. Tuesday and caused the damage; they do not know why. Police posted a video showing a woman flinging pamphlets from their holders over her head, pulling a bulletin board off the wall and ripping down other posted items before leaving.

Police received several tips from people who recognized the woman in the video, according to Island Lake police.
