Sign up for oak inventory work day

Join volunteers by helping take an inventory of old oak trees from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Fairfield Park, 350 N. Fairfield Road, Round Lake.

Participants will learn how to identify, measure, mark, and catalog oak trees.

This is part of a project to restore the old growth oak forest in the park by removing invasive trees and shrubs and planting native grasses and sedges under the oaks.

Stay for the duration or drop-in. The event is sponsored by Together for Nature/Juntos para la Naturaleza IL and Manitou Creek Watershed Alliance.
