Nurses’ Week Concert honors staff at Central DuPage Hospital

Nurses at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield took a special break on a sunny Wednesday as local cover band Vital Signs performed in the hospital courtyard during an ice cream social.

The band is headed by Dr. Anthony Altimari, M.D., a surgeon at Central DuPage Hospital and is composed of his daughter, Emily Altimari, as lead singer, his brother on keys, nephew on drums, and cousin on bass guitar. They have performed during Nurses’ Week for the past four years.

The hospital is celebrating nurses with a range of activities this week, making friendship bracelets, painting succulents, and treating staff to special meals and treats.

These activities are just a small way for the hospital to say thank you to some of their healthcare heroes for all that they do for patients every day.
