Kids make Mother’s Day cards at Wheaton library

A drop-in craft event gave families and caregivers a chance to make Mother’s Day cards together at the Wheaton Public Library Friday.

Tina Bartenfelder, youth services librarian, said the library provided craft supplies and families could stop by and make Mother’s Day cards together any time during the day.

Tracy McMahon of Wheaton and her 18-month-old daughter, Madelyn, came to the library to play and they wound up making a pink card with a trio of layered hearts at the center.

“I wasn’t expecting this so it’s nice that they have this set up,” McMahon said.
